Westfield Community School has established an active Student Voice Team as part of a national students 'Learning to Lead' programme. As part of the programme students volunteer to give up their own time to make a positive difference to their school and wider community. The students chair their own meetings, make plans, and make positive changes to the school environment.
The 'Lavatory SOS Team’, which involves students from all year groups, has been particularly successful. Students recently gave up their free time to totally transform the look of not one, but four of the schools toilet blocks. The colour scheme and design were chosen by the students, as a result of which the toilets art now bright and cheerful!
